The Moroccan wedding invitation features a hand painted watercolour illustration of the Selman Marrakech - a luxury Moroccan wedding venue, and is framed by a colourful lambrequin arch. The vibrant guest details card features watercolour illustrations of a camel, Moroccan pots and exotic tassel drapes with striking blue florals, plus the couple's initials at the top. Perfect for modern weddings, the RSVP card is printed with a QR code to direct guests to your wedding website. Inspired by Morocco’s wonderful mosaic tilework, the printed envelope liners and belly band is printed with patterned Zellij tiles and simply ooze with Mediterranean artisan flair.
Each Moroccan wedding invitation set includes a hand painted venue illustration. The sample shows the fabulous Selman Marrakech. Nestled at the foot of the Atlas Mountains in the heart of Morocco, it is a sanctuary of luxury and romance. With its opulent architecture, lush gardens, and world-class amenities, Selman Marrakech offers couples a magical setting for their dream wedding. The hotel's interior features exquisite Moroccan-inspired decor, quite similar to the design of my Moroccan wedding invitations, with intricate tile work, ornate chandeliers, and sumptuous furnishings that exude luxury at every turn. One of the highlights of Selman Marrakech is its stunning grounds, which boast lush gardens, tranquil pools, and picturesque courtyards. Couples can exchange vows in the hotel's enchanting gardens, surrounded by fragrant flowers and towering palm trees, or opt for a more intimate ceremony in one of the hotel's elegant event spaces. No matter which venue you have chosen, my Moroccan wedding invitations will capture the charisma and beauty of your wedding location.
If you desire a destination wedding that combines luxury, romance, and exotic charm, Morocco is the perfect setting. It is renowned for exotic beauty, with bustling souks, ancient palaces, and lush gardens filled with fragrant flowers and providing a stunning backdrop for weddings. Marrakech boasts a wealth of luxurious accommodations, ranging from opulent riads and boutique hotels to lavish resorts and palatial villas.
Morocco also has a vibrant culinary scene offering a tantalising array of flavours and aromas to tempt the taste buds of your wedding guests. From traditional Moroccan dishes like tagine and couscous to international cuisine from around the world. To complement your Moroccan wedding invitations, I can also create some hand painted wedding menus in bright colours and patterns perfect for a Marrakech wedding. Hand painted place cards are also available with the lambrequin arch that stars on the Moroccan wedding invitation itself.
Having visited with the hubby, on what was our first holiday together, Marrakech is a place dear to my heart. Steeped in history and culture, with its ancient medina, bustling souks, and historic landmarks, it provides endless opportunities for exploration and discovery. We loved visiting the street markets, cultural museums and gardens including Jardin Majorelle - a botanical garden designed by French artist Jacques Majorelle in the 1920s and renowned for its vibrant colours and exotic plant collection. You will see the strong cobalt and tonal blue shades of my Moroccan wedding invitations are inspired by this botanical garden.
Wedding weekends are popular for destination weddings, so why not take your guests on a guided tour of Marrakech's iconic landmarks, such as the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace or the main square Jemaa el-Fnaa. Bespoke stationery designs can be added on to your Morrocan wedding invitations, including illustrated itineraries, guest welcome packs and wedding maps. So, if you’re planning a Moroccan wedding, please contact me to discuss my destination wedding packages.
]]>As couples seek to infuse their weddings with personal touches and unique experiences, many are choosing to include their beloved pets in the celebration. Whether it’s a dog or a cat, pets bring an extra layer of joy and love to weddings. Is it an ingenious idea or a pain in the rear?
It’s important to carefully consider the logistics and practicalities involved, to ensure the best for you and your pet.
Before deciding to include your pets in your wedding, it's crucial to ensure that your chosen a pet-friendly wedding venue. Not all wedding venues allow animals on the premises, particularly if it is an old or listing building, and those that do may have specific guidelines and restrictions in place. Speak with your wedding coordinator early in the planning process to confirm their pet policy and discuss any requirements or limitations that may apply.
Consider your pet's temperament and comfort level in social settings. While some pets thrive in crowds and enjoy being the centre of attention, others may feel overwhelmed or anxious in unfamiliar environments. Take time to assess how your pet responds to new situations and determine whether they would be comfortable participating in the wedding festivities.
If your pet tends to be shy or easily stressed, it may be best to find alternative ways to incorporate them into the celebration that are less overwhelming. Perhaps a pre-wedding shoot with your pet? Or some venues allow pets to come along just for the wedding photos, and then be chaperoned away again.
Some dogs make great ring bearers and are comfortable and confident to walk down the aisle, while others may become anxious and panic or misbehave. It much depends on your pets temperament and how they handle crowds and unfamiliar situations.
Decide on the role you envision for your pet in the wedding ceremony or reception. Whether they'll serve as ring bearers, flower pets, or simply make a special appearance, it's essential to plan their involvement thoughtfully. Assign specific responsibilities to designated handlers who can oversee your pet's care and well-being throughout the event.
Make sure your pet is well-trained and comfortable with their assigned role and consider conducting a rehearsal to familiarize them with their duties and surroundings.
Prioritize your pet's safety and well-being during the wedding festivities. Ensure they are properly supervised at all times and have access to food, water, and a quiet space where they can retreat if they need a break from the excitement. Keep potential hazards such as toxic plants, candles, and electrical cords out of reach, and consider using a secure leash or harness to prevent your pet from wandering off or getting into mischief. Don’t forget about escape routes! If your venue has large gardens or grounds, don’t let them off the lead unless it’s an enclosed space and they have a good recall.
Inform your guests in advance that pets will be present at the wedding, especially if any attendees have allergies or phobias related to animals. Consider including a note on your wedding invitations or website to notify guests of your pet-friendly celebration. Provide clear instructions and expectations regarding how guests should interact with your pet, such as refraining from feeding them table scraps or approaching them without permission.
Including pets in your wedding can add a special and memorable touch to your celebration, but it's essential to approach the decision thoughtfully and responsibly. By considering factors such as pet-friendly venues, temperament and comfort, roles and responsibilities, safety measures, and communication with guests, you can ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone involved.
If your dog is unable to come to your wedding, there’s lots of other ways to incorporate them into your special days – such as…
Dusty Blue Hydrangea Wedding Invitations
Dusty blue is a popular wedding colour at the moment - it’s calm and relaxing but also a joyful, happy colour and perfect for weddings. Dusty blue, also referred to as French blue and periwinkle, is easy to weave into your wedding styling - from bridesmaids dresses, to napkins and charger plates and of course it looks stunning on wedding invitations with custom venue illustrations. A versatile shade of blue, it is suitable for a variety of wedding themes from coastal weddings to barn venues, or weddings in breath-taking countryside locations. Dusty blue looks great when paired with white, tones of peaches and blush pink too.
This personalised wedding invitation set with blue hydrangeas is popular at the moment - and it’s easy to see why, blue hydrangeas can help add a touch of elegance, while still embracing the natural world. They work amazingly for eco-conscious weddings, and locations by the sea or countryside. Brides, grooms and wedding planners alike are loving hydrangeas because of their unique colour and shape - with blue, white, blush and lilac being among the top trends for this season.
This blue hydrangea custom wedding invitation set comes featuring a watercolour venue painting and your choice of white or dusty blue envelopes. The benefits of incorporating venue paintings are endless - they can really make your wedding invitation set stand out, by adding a unique twist to your wedding styling. Once your illustration has been hand-painted, it can be used across many elements of your wedding day, such as a custom welcome sign, order of service booklet and thank you cards for your guests. A venue illustration wedding invitation is sure to grab your guests’ attention and sets the tone for a super exciting day sure to be filled with little extras and a personal touch.
Lavender Blooms Wedding Invitations
Brimming with gorgeous summery blooms in shades of lavender and blush, this venue illustration invitation set is inspired by the latest wildflower wedding trend. These delicate floral themed invitations feature gorgeous wildflowers in shades of lavender, lilac and purple and blush pink roses. This set features a custom venue illustration of Holmewood Hall (a fabulous historic Tudor mansion in Cambridgeshire, surrounded by parkland, gardens and perfectly manicured lawns) and features a bespoke envelope liner.
The custom envelope liner has an extra personal touch, with a quote that is special to the couple - other options include printing a monogram, repeat pattern, pet portrait or venue illustration onto the liner. The personalised wedding invitation set also comes with an illustrated details card, highlighting the ceremony details, accommodation and venue facilities. There are many ways to make your wedding stationery unique, such as adding a printed envelope liner, monogram wax seals in a colour and design of your choice, or even a printed belly band to hold your invitation set together.
Peach and Cream Wedding Invitations
Soft, elegant peach and cream florals are the focus of this hand-painted wedding invitation set. The set of three comes complete with a custom venue illustration, a bespoke envelope liner, illustrated details card and an RSVP card. The sample set pictured shows a watercolour venue painting of Hedsor House - a luxury Georgian venue in Buckinghamshire which promises exceptional experiences and treasured memories; although your set will come with your own custom venue illustration. Most venues look great in watercolours, especially stately homes, and country houses. Traditional, hand painted watercolours can really bring these wedding venues to life and showcase the old brickwork, architectural details, and lovely trees, plants and foliage that often surround them.
This set of illustrated wedding invitations includes an RSVP Card with a QR code which guests can scan to get to the wedding website, I’d say 70% of my invitation designs now include QR codes, with couples finding this a super useful way to direct guests to their website, where they can have more detailed guest information and some find it easier collecting RSVPs online than with traditional cards that get mailed back.

The sample set depicts a venue illustration of the charming Ormesby Hall in Norfolk. Accompanied by a bespoke envelope liner featuring a pet portrait, an illustrated details card, and a modern RSVP card featuring a QR code. The floral border that surrounds this set features florals of dusty blue, blush and white with delphinium, hydrangea, rose and peony flowers.
Adding an illustration of your pet into your wedding stationery design is a great way of personalising it, and is becoming more popular as modern couples ditch the dull, traditional stationery in favour of creative invitations that show their personalities a little. Once created, you can use the same custom pet portrait on a multitude of wedding items - from save the dates and invitations to table numbers, favour tags and signature cocktail menus for your wedding day.
If you are considering illustrated wedding invitations or a bespoke stationery package, aim to get in touch as soon as possible as my diary does get quite full. As you can imagine, the hand painted elements take a little time, so don’t leave it until the last minute! You can contact me here.
]]>By now, you will understand that there’s lots to consider when getting married abroad, and your wedding stationery is no different! Here’s some handy hints to help you plan your destination wedding invitation set.
EMBRACE YOUR LOCATION
Whether you have chosen to get married in Italy, Morrocco or Spain, incorporating your location into the design of your destination wedding invitations is a great way to set the tone for your special day and make the stationery unique and completely personal to you.
Destination weddings lend themselves well to hand painted suites with venue illustrations, crests and other illustrated elements. For example, Italian weddings might like to incorporate lemons, olive branches or a Tuscan landscape, while Moroccan celebrations are perfectly suited to bright colours and geometric patterns inspired by Zellij tiles and urban casbahs the region is famous for.
Watercolour wedding maps are also an ideal add-on to your wedding stationery set. Beautifully illustrated and featuring important landmarks or points of interest surrounding your wedding venue, wedding maps are extremely useful in helping guests find their way around.
After your wedding, they can also be framed and hung in your home as a keepsake of your special day
GIVE GUESTS PLENTY OF NOTICE
If you are looking up ‘when should I send out wedding invitations’ you’ll stumble across recommendations to send wedding invitations 6-8 weeks before the event – but with weddings abroad, guests will have to book flights, save up and take more time of work, so don’t be afraid to send destination wedding invitations 12 months before the event.
Yes, yes, yes!!! Although it may seem like an extra expense, hiring an experienced wedding planner can save you money in the long run. Some venues and suppliers increase prices for couples from out of town, and a wedding planner will know exactly how much everything should cost.
There may also be local legal requirements that you are unaware of, and liaising with individual international suppliers, especially where there is a time difference or language barrier, can cause a headache!
Hiring a wedding planner is giving you one point of contact, who should have in-depth industry knowledge and a whole string of reliable contacts, from florists and stylists to photographers, that should be vetted and quality assured!
WRITING A DESTINATION WEDDING INVITATION
If you are wondering how to write a destination wedding invitation, you should include all the usual essential information such as your names, date and time of wedding, venue name and address, plus guest information.
If you are having a wedding website, I recommend having in-depth information on the website and a summary of key points on the printed invitations – such as travel information (flight times, numbers, airports and transfers), a schedule of events / your itinerary and how to RSVP.
Depending on the design of your destination wedding invitations and how much space you have, you could also include dress codes, whether children are welcome and gifting information.
WEDDING WEBSITES
Super handy for a destination wedding! Not only for sharing detailed information, but you can keep updating them, even after you have sent your invitations out – which is useful if details change, or you add more weekend events to your schedule. You can also collect RSVP’s online, which is ideal if you have guests scattered across the globe, and some guests might find it easier RSVP-ing online, rather than mailing back a card.
You can collect menu choices and dietary requirements too and also share your wedding gift registry online.
TRAVELLING WITH A TABLE PLAN
When it comes to wedding signs and table plans, transportation is a consideration – but don’t worry, I have this perfected down to a tee. It’s possible to print large table plans or welcome signs in two halves so they fit in your suitcase – then they can be stacked on top of one another or hung side by side.
Seating charts can also be printed on fabric and rolled to go in your suitcase, or you could embrace ‘table plan cards’, printing them on A5 or A6 size cards which are then mounted on a vintage mirror, rustic wooden board or other frame.
Failing that, I can supply table plans and wedding signage in digital format, should you wish to have them printed locally to your venue.
SAY A BIG THANK YOU
While it’s traditional to gift brides and grooms at weddings, it is also a thoughtful token gesture to treat your guests if they have travelled from afar. This could be a simple welcome hamper or gift bag. I have created some lovely stationery for these in the past, including personalised note cards, letters on custom headed paper and custom tags for gift bags with the couples wedding crest.
You could also plan fun group activities, excursions, dinner or brunch for your guests – don’t forget to provide an itinerary on arrival so guests know exactly where to be and when!
If you’d like to chat about stationery for your destination wedding, please get in touch. I offer bespoke wedding invitation sets, hand painted wedding invitations and stationery for the day of your wedding.
Wedding crests are a unique piece of artwork, incorporating highly personalised illustrations that are significant to you as a couple. A modern take on the traditional family coat of arms, watercolour crests help tell your story and represent your individual personalities.
My crest designs are hand painted, with each one being unique, in keeping with your wedding styling and perfect for using throughout our wedding.
I consider these bespoke wedding emblems as an investment, as once designed, they can be used on a multitude of wedding stationery and decor items. From paper goods such as wedding invitations and menus, to signage, favour tags and napkins. Plus, they can be printed and framed in your home as a reminder of your special day.
What Goes on a Wedding Crest?
Custom crests are made up of several components…
What letters go on a wedding crest?
The interlinked letters in the centre of a wedding crest are often referred to as monograms and are made up of the first letters of your first names. Some couples choose to have three letters, which would be the first letter of your surname, and then the first letters of your first names, slightly smaller either side.
Whose Initials Go First in a Wedding Monogram?
Traditionally, the bride’s initial goes first in a wedding monogram, however the beauty of modern times is that we have the freedom to be creative, and are less bound by old wedding traditions.
What Colours are Wedding Crests?
I generally advise that your crest should match the colour scheme of your wedding, and in all my years as a designer, I haven’t come across a colour palette I’ve been unable to work with!
Some of my favourite wedding crest colours:A wedding crest is a hand painted logo or emblem that incorporates design elements that are special to you as a couple. It will seamlessly pull together your wedding colour scheme and styling, but most importantly of all, it adds a sprinkle of personality and a unique touch to your wedding day.
If you’re still wondering ‘what is the point in a wedding crest’ and ‘what can wedding crests be used for’, then please read on…
A wedding crest enables you to present guests with a unique creation they have never seen before - contemporary weddings are all about creating unique experiences. After all… no couple wants their wedding to be the same as everyone else's.
Although it may seem like a big outlay, once the crest has been designed, you can use it on countless items for your wedding.
Crest Wedding Invitations
Custom crests can be printed on most items of wedding stationery including save the dates and invitations, details cards and envelope liners. It is the little, personalised and unique touches that separate luxury wedding stationery from the mediocre.
Welcome Signs with Crests
Make a dazzling first impression and let guests know they are at the correct event, with a breath-taking welcome sign featuring your personalised monogram. Wedding signage is large, so perfect for showing off the detail in your crest.
Wedding Menus with Crests
You can also incorporate your crest into your table styling, by printing it onto personalised wedding menus, napkins or table numbers. This can help bring together the styling and colours of your wedding tables.
Favour Tags with Wedding Crests
Personalise your wedding favour tags with a little thank you message, and your custom monogram design - don’t forget to tie them on with coloured ribbon too.
Other Ideas for Printing Wedding Crests
I often receive enquiries about creating pocketfold invitations, or perhaps clients have found inspo on Pinterest, and while I’m happy to create anything my clients want, I always suggest folded invitations as a more cost-effective option.
The most budget-friendly of my folded invites are the floral and lemons designs. The Roses and Eucalyptus Invitation features a popular blush pink and sage colour palette, while the Wildflower Folded Invitation has a splash of hot pink and beautiful blooms in pink, blue and yellow. Both are sealed with a wax seal and come with coloured envelopes.
Most of my folded invitations are gatefold style. They have a centre panel and 2 flaps that fold out revealing the important details of your wedding. These are great for all types of wedding - from traditional church weddings in the beautiful British countryside, to destination weddings in the tropics. Other folded styles include a half fold, which is like a traditional greetings card and a concertina fold which is a zig zag style folding card.
As a specialist in hand painted illustration and bespoke wedding stationery, I can think of lots of ways to personalise folded invitations.
Below is a folded invitation I created for clients S & T.
They were married at Dalhousie and were returning with guests to celebrate their 20th anniversary. The couple wanted autumnal colours and a hint of emerald green, so I painted the venue in watercolours with autumnal trees and foliage. They also had lots of exciting tourist activities planned for the guests, and wanted a map of Edinburgh, which I painted and printed on the reverse of the invitations.
FAQ
Gatefold invitations need a little something to hold them closed. This could be a single wax seal, vellum or paper belly band or a gorgeous ribbon secured with a wax seal.
As standard, my folded invitations are A5 size, but they could also be 5” x 7” or square. Please get in touch if you are looking for a custom size.
Folded invitations are a great way of achieving a premium finish, while looking after your wedding budget. They have a luxury look and feel, are customised and personal to you and your wedding. The colours can be adapted to match your colour scheme and I have included extra custom illustrations for clients in the past, varying from pet portraits to things representing their culture and heritage.

Dusty Blue French Wedding Theme
I was thrilled when Cherelle Blake recently contacted me to get involved in a styled shoot, she was planning at Ormesby Manor in Norfolk. Inspired by French destination weddings, her vision was to create a romantic, timeless and luxurious French-inspired shoot in the heart of Norfolk – and the end result was stunning!
I created a set of bespoke wedding invitations, with a custom venue illustration and watercolour wedding crest. The details included torn paper, custom envelope liners and faux silk ribbons with wax seals. Look closely and you’ll notice wax seals have an elegant swan imprint, which fits perfectly with the dusty blue French wedding theme.
With such a fabulous team, every detail of the shoot was planned to perfection. I instantly fell in love with the wedding cake made by Ruth from Mooreish Cakes. It had 5 tiers, lace detail, pretty white daisies and light blue macaroons. The table styling really came into its own with the tall blue candlesticks and white wildflowers from the Blissful Bride and Wilde and Vine.
I also created the table stationery including custom wedding menus with wax seals and beautiful blue ribbon, and some personalized place cards with the white swan wax seals and pretty blue bows. The wedding menus were anchored with dusty blue napkins on shaped white plates to create the perfect place settings.
What Colours complement Dusty Blue?
If you’re wondering what colours pair well with dusty blue… Mostly white with a pop of dusty blue looks fab. Or you could go for neutral shades such as beige, taupe and Champagne. It works well with metallics for a little understated luxury and with other pastel colours such as peach, blush pink and sage green.
Coastal Wedding Theme Ideas
A tone almost straight from the ocean, dusty blue is perfect for coastal weddings too.
Create breath-taking blooms with dusty blue florals such as hydrangeas, delphiniums, hyacinth or forget-me-nots. Adorn your wedding tables with dusty blue table runners, candles or plates – which look fab paired with crisp white or metallic accents for a touch of opulence. And of course, dusty blue wedding invitations and table menus will help pull everything together.
I was delighted to work with H & C on their wedding stationery. I created a custom wedding invitation set with a watercolour venue illustration of Chatham Bars Inn in Massachusetts – one of the most beautiful coastal wedding venues in Cape Cod. The design also included a custom wedding logo with blue hydrangeas and printed envelopes for the RSVP cards.
H & C’s table décor looked absolutely stunning and was beautifully curated. I loved the blue and white striped seat pads, elegantly tied napkins and glass candle sticks. I was also in love with the textured white wedding cake and the dusty blue bridesmaids dresses!
Dusty Blue Custom Wedding Décor
E & K were married in Whistling Straights, and I was thrilled to create some custom wedding illustrations for them. This time, I created a custom crest and some floral emblems – in gorgeous dusty blue shades, that were then passed on to a local graphic design who put the invitations, menus and other items together.
The gorgeous detail shots and flat lays by their wedding photographer, Dabble Me This were spectacular! I love this invitation flat lay with all the florals and velvet ring box, and this detail shot of the invitation and wedding rings too.
What do you Use a Wedding Crest for?
If you’re looking for ideas on how to use a wedding crest, look no further… E & K got super creative and used their crest throughout their wedding styling – the custom monogram was printed on their invitations, table menus, welcome sign, koozies and also a cloth that hung elegantly on the treat shelf – the cookies looked delicious!
The serenity and elegance of dusty blue provides a timeless and enchanting backdrop for your wedding day. Whether you use it sparingly as an accent or make it the star of your colour palette, dusty blue is sure to create a romantic ambience for your event. So, if you're searching for a colour that embodies grace and sophistication, consider incorporating the ethereal beauty of dusty blue into your wedding theme. Your wedding will be a reflection of your love story, filled with elegance and charm.

Love is a wild adventure, and what better way to embark on your journey together, than with a destination wedding, allowing your guests to enjoy a unique experience, surrounded by stunning scenery, the sounds of the bush, majestic animals and endless possibilities when it comes to photo opportunities!
Safari weddings have gained popularity in recent years for their unique blend of adventure, romance, and nature. In this blog post, we'll explore the magic of getting married on safari, from colour schemes, cakes and flowers to ideas for your wedding invitations, place cards and menus. And of course, lots of inspiration for your wedding photography - all with the help of 'by Emma Olivia' Photography and a fabulous team that brought this styled shoot to life.

First of all, a safari wedding isn't just about the location; it's about the entire experience. Here's what you can expect…
Swap the traditional church or chapel for a one-of-a-kind spot to say I do. Port Lympne has a fabulous garden pergola tucked away in the whispering walled garden - it is 100% one of the most romantic settings to exchange your vows. Afterwards, your guests head to the beautifully-tiered terraces of the walled garden for a celebratory glass of fizz.
With an abundance of beautiful wild animals and plants, there are some gorgeous shades to inspire your wedding colour scheme. Varying shades of brown look fab - think beige and Champagne paired with dusty brown and caramel, with a pop of dusty rose to balance it out.
For the wedding party, neutrals or dusty rose work well for bridesmaids dresses. While linen suits in shades of tobacco, russet, coffee or khaki work well for the groomsmen. Linen wedding suits are a great choice for destination weddings as the fabric is breathable in hot weather.
Safari weddings lend themselves well to mixing up textures. Don't be afraid to incorporate metallics such as copper and gold or natural materials such as raw wood, linen, cheese cloth or macramé decorative items.
Destination weddings lend themselves well to bespoke wedding stationery, the location, venue and styling often provide lots of inspiration for the wedding invitations. Whether that may be incorporating a custom venue illustration, bespoke wedding crest, or just inspo for the colours, embellishments and envelopes. Commissioning a venue illustration is a great way to tie everything together, and most safari wedding venues look fab in watercolour! Below is a folded wedding invitation featuring a watercolour painting of Port Lympne and an illustrated Order of Events inside. The giraffe is also a nod to the safari wedding venue that was hosting the styled photoshoot.
Folded wedding invitations are great for destination weddings. The right hand panel is the perfect place to share timings of your ceremony, wedding breakfast, reception and any experiential events taking place.

Bespoke wedding stationery is all about fine details, so think about how your embellishments can help communicate your theme. Wax seals in nude, gold, copper or brown work well for safari weddings. Think about the stamp design too, you could opt for a custom stamp with monogram initials, or botanical leaves and wild animals will work well too.
The safari theme can also be incorporated into stationery for the day of your wedding. For example table names could be named after wild animals, your table plan could feature a subtle touch of leopard print, and why not commission a custom crest for your welcome sign? The wedding crest could incorporate your colour scheme, elements that are special to you as a couple and perhaps a giraffe, lion or tiger to represent your unique wedding location.
Above is a bespoke menu, I created for the Port Lympne photoshoot, featuring a copper wax seal with a botanical leaf, and a subtle watercolour splash in the background. There is also a simple silhouette outline of wild animals across the bottom. below we have wedding vows books, with deckled edges and ribbon, and gold wax seals with a custom monogram stamp of the couples' initials.
Destination weddings are often intimate affairs, with only close friends and family making the guest list! A smaller guest list, means more quality time with loved ones and time for fun activities on your wedding day. Port Lympne has intimate wedding packages for 20+ guests, in addition to packages for larger weddings.
Go big on the flowers and foliage. Flower arches with dusty pink roses and lots of foliage, with decorative hurricane vases, lanterns and draped fabric look amazing with this theme.
I was also in love with the bride's bouquet with beautiful cream and earthy tones, and some subtle tropical flowers incorporated - along with cream button holes for the groomsmen, which look fab with the brown suiting.

Now here’s for the best bit… Perhaps the most enchanting aspect of a safari wedding is the chance to see exotic wildlife up close. Elephants, lions, giraffes, and more may become unexpected guests at your celebration. We love that the bride and groom got to enjoy feeding the Rhinos during this fabulous styled shoot!
If you are incorporating a Safari tour during your wedding, rest assured that you'll have expert guides who ensure your safety while navigating the wilderness. They'll also provide invaluable knowledge about the local flora and fauna.
A safari wedding offers lots of unique photo opportunities, whether that be in and around the grounds, against a backdrop of the rustic wilderness or with some four-legged friends you may have met along the way; either way, you can be sure that your wedding photos will be completely different from the usual ceremony and reception shots you usually see.
And, don't forget the behind the scenes, getting ready and detail shots that will make your wedding album complete!

Created by Roland Gruber, a bartender from the city of Naturns, the Hugo was initially crafted as a non-alcoholic aperitif, emphasizing the region's abundant fresh ingredients. Its popularity soared, and it soon underwent a transformation by adding Prosecco and elderflower liqueur to create the spirited version we know and love today.

A fairytale historic villa right on the edge of the lake’s famous blue waters, the Villa Balbienello’s terraced gardens are only the start of your wedding story. It offers amazing views of Isola Comacina and the western shore of the lake, a venue where you can choose a civil, religious or symbolic wedding. You can hold your wedding reception indoors or outdoors and there’s room for up to 80 people. The villa’s access is exclusively by boat, making it even more romantic, and while the venue doesn’t provide accommodation there’s plenty to choose from nearby.
Widely known and the lake’s most spectacular wedding venue, the tree-filled peninsula Villa Balbienello sits on makes it feel like you’re on your own private island. Scenes from Star Wars and James Bond movies were filmed here, and it’s no stranger to celebrity weddings. A lush garden and panoramic views make it extra-special.
This set is from our popular Destination Wedding Collection. It includes a folded invitation, a save the date card and an RSVP card and features an original watercolour illustration of Villa Balbianello itself, set off to perfection with dusty blue envelopes. There’s space for the details of your ceremony and weekend events inside, and the save the date card showcases sweet little illustrations inspired by Italian destination weddings: the wine, the pizza, the Prosecco, luggage, florals and more.
Get married at the elegant Villa Regina Teodolinda
The deliciously pretty Villa Regina Teodolinda is nestled within unique scenery close to little village of Laglio, whose local climate is so gentle that it never gets too hot. Lovely cool lake breezes are the name of the game here and the villa, at one of the lake’s slimmest points, gives you gorgeous views of the opposite shore. This is a magical place where relaxation sits at the heart of everything, complete with a private dock to access Lake Como itself.
Choose from a civil, religious or symbolic wedding, either outside or indoors, and it has a capacity of 70 people. There’s accommodation for eighteen in the villa itself, with six elegant and refined suites, all light, breezy and comfortable.
We created this bespoke wedding project for our clients Macy and Ryan, who are getting married at Villa Regina. Our hand painted watercolour illustration of the front of the villa includes the bridge, something the clients were keen to include, and the wedding colour scheme is a blend of Hydrangeas and dusty blue. We paired the cards with Champagne coloured envelopes and created a monogram-initialed custom stamp for the couple’s wax envelope seals.

Wedding ceremonies at the lovely Villa Pizzo
The neo-classical Villa Pizzo sits in a dramatic position between the lake itself and the Alps, aptly described as ‘grand’. Built way back in 1435, this is classic Italian architecture at its best, magnificent inside and out. There’s lots of space for live music and entertainment, and the finest local cuisine is yours thanks to the venue’s brilliant banqueting partner, Milan’s iconic AFM banqueting. The food is high end, the catering is distinctive, and everything can be tailored to your personal taste.
If you’re getting married between May and October Villa Pizzo, with its gorgeous lakeside gardens and extraordinary views, makes the perfect fairytale wedding venue. The grand dock, built in the 1800s with exceptional lake-surrounded views, is a popular place for the ceremony itself, and for post-wedding dining and partying.
Our hand-painted, illustrated luxury wedding stationery is the perfect complement to an Italian wedding on Lake Como, a lovely little touch of ‘different’ that adds extra charm to your wedding. We wish you a magical time.

You’re a unique couple. Your wedding is going to be unique. You need a beautiful wedding crest to pull everything together, a focus for the feel and personality of your big day. Let’s take a look at ‘what is a wedding crest?’ Why you’d love one of your own, and how to use a wedding crest…
Why do you need a wedding monogram?
A wedding crest can tie all the design elements of your wedding together, using colours from your colour scheme and florals from your bouquet but also bringing in meaningful illustrations that represent you as a couple. My past wedding crests have included all kinds of special illustrations from venue illustrations and pet portraits, to elements representing your hobbies, places you’ve travelled together and where you met.
Once complete, wedding crests can be printed on an array of wedding stationery and signage. So place a hand-painted, highly personalised wedding emblem at the heart of your day and it’ll give you cohesive, curated wedding styling that ties everything together perfectly.
In the example below, we have Borthwick Castle, which was the couple’s wedding venue and their two lively springer spaniels. The wedding illustrations also contains a plane to symbolise their travels together, red wine, gardening tools and a duck which represent their hobbies and common interests. They were having an autumn wedding and the colours were taken from their overall wedding colour scheme with some of the florals matching the bride’s bouquet.
What’s the difference between a monogram and a crest?
A monogram is a traditional logo with the couple’s initials intertwined. But a crest goes deeper, showcasing the interests, background, and other things that are special to them.
How to use your personalised wedding crest
Use your crest to unify your wedding stationery, wedding crests can be printed on:
Having a garden or barn wedding? Wedding crests can be printed on cushions and flags, welcome signs and directional signage to help your guests find their way. I’ve also had couples print their crest onto the side of pop-up bars or outdoor catering shacks which looks incredible.
After your special day, your wedding crest is the beating heart of your memories. It’ll look gorgeous framed and hung on the wall in your home, a piece of original artwork that means so much to you and is a great conversation starter.
Wedding Crest Gifts
Looking for a wedding gift or first anniversary present? If the newly weds didn’t commission a crest themselves, it would be lovely for you to have one created. A wedding crest makes a wonderfully romantic wedding gift for a couple and is such a versatile way to symbolise everything about their love, their relationship, their past and their future.
Below is a lilac wedding crest that I created on request of the Mother of the Bride. She had it printed and framed as a lovely wedding gift for the couple.
What goes on a wedding crest?
Every couple’s marriage crest is unique, painted to reflect the couple, their love for each other and the things that matter most to them. But there’s usually an attractive shield-shaped outline for the design to sit in, with pretty florals and foliage to the sides and across the top.
Each crest has the couple’s initials intertwined in the middle and a banner or scroll underneath. At the top or bottom, you’ll usually find something meaningful which acts as the anchor for the illustration - such as a venue illustration or pet portrait (or both if you like). The outside of the crest is filled with decorative elements to reveal the couple’s story.
How your beautiful wedding crest is created
I’ll spend time talking to you about the design, exploring exactly what you’d like to include. Maybe you have a specific colour scheme in mind to match the bridesmaid dresses, bouquets or décor. The illustrations can include anything you like, symbolising the place you met, food and drink you love, your hobbies, favourite romantic holiday spot, even your first home together. Whatever moves you, whatever makes your hearts sing, I like to think almost anything is possible. Finally, hand-painted letters in the centre make your crest complete.
How long does a custom wedding crest take?
My crests involve detailed planning, careful drafting, and skilled hand-painting, so please allow 3-6 weeks for the design and creation, and book your crest in nice and early. I’m excited to learn what will symbolise your love best, so get in touch straight away and get the ball rolling!
]]>Let’s start with your wedding ceremony. Most couples like to have an ‘Order of Service’ booklet for guests to read during their ceremony. It contains a schedule of your wedding ceremony, in the order it occurs such as the entrance of the bride, exchange of vows, signing of the marriage certificate etc. Plus the words to any hymns and readings that you may have within your service.
Order of services can be both religious and non-religious. The religious programmes, often used for church weddings, tend to have more text due to the length of the hymns, so these booklets are best with inner pages so you have more space. However, if you’re having a civil ceremony or perhaps a destination wedding, and don’t need to print hymns, you may be able to go for a single folded card with no pages.
Most couples order one per person, or one between two.
The ‘Order of Service’ is purely for your ceremony. If you wish to share timings of the full day with guests such as dining and first dance timings, there are ‘Order of the Day’ or ‘Order of Events’ cards which include a brief list of the key timings throughout your wedding day.
This is handy to ensure no-one misses a moment or nips to the loo as speeches are about to start. Or you may have some entertainment planned for later in the evening. Perhaps a caricaturist, comedian or live singer and it may be useful for guests to know the timings - especially any guest’s with children that may need to leave early.
‘Table Stationery’ includes anything that is part of your table décor or tablescape such as place cards, menus, table numbers and favour tags. Place cards are printed with each guest’s name, and can be decorated with florals, foliage or wax seals. These indicate where each guest should sit, once they have found their table. Menus are useful to remind guests what they have ordered, you can have one per person and personalise the menu to the guest's menu choice, or have one or two per wedding table. Table numbers help the guests find their table and can be displayed on wooden logs, photo holders, on mini easels or in picture frames.
What Should be Included in a Wedding Menu?
Wedding menus are useful to help remind guests what they have ordered - they also make a lovely wedding keepsake! A wedding menu should include details of each course, and can also have the newly weds names and date of the wedding printed at the top.
Your wedding menus can all be printed with the same text, listing the options for each course, or they can be personalised to each guest’s menu choice, which is a nice little touch and fabulous way of personalising your wedding stationery. It’s possible to combine the place card and menu, making your stationery more cost-effective and meaning you have less little cards on the table. Wedding menus with place names are essentially a lovely menu card with a name tag for the guest, usually held down by a wax seal or other embellishment.
Table numbers (or table names) are quite self explanatory and are used to identify each table. There’s lots of ways to display them including mini easels, table number holders and photo frames. Whether you have made DIY favour tags or ordered personalised gifts, don’t forget to customise your favour tags! You could include a monogram or wedding crest if you’re having one, or perhaps your wedding hashtag to remind couples to share photos of the day.
It may sound a little dull, but there’s lots of ways to get creative with wedding signage. The essential wedding signs are a welcome sign and table plan. Wedding welcome signs help guests know they are at the right venue and in the right room, while table plans (also referred to as seating charts or seating plans) help guests find their seat. Your list of tables can be ordered numerically or mimic the layout of the room, or you can put guests in alphabetical order.
Modern vellum is a luxury wedding paper, super smooth with a waxy finish and translucent in appearance, almost like frosted glass it can add an elegant touch to your wedding invitations. Vellum paper looks great layered or wrapped around wedding stationery and you can get creative with the translucency playing around with the text or florals which are placed behind it.
Vellum is a super subtle detail that can work its way into your stationery suite in many ways, from the base material of your invitations to vellum belly bands or envelopes. It’s available in many colours and weights, although I usually find ivory or white complements wedding stationery designs well.
If you would like me to create some vellum wedding stationery for you, please get in touch using the link below.
