For many couples, dogs aren’t just animals, they are part of the family. They are cherished and loved, and have personalities as vibrant as any human. So it makes sense that couples would want to include their beloved furry friends in their wedding celebrations. Previously, I’ve suggested ideas for incorporating your dog into your wedding, but what if they can’t attend? What if your dream venue doesn’t permit dogs or you’re traveling abroad for a destination wedding and can’t take them with you? Custom dog illustrations for weddings can be a great way of incorporating your dog into your wedding day and can be used in lots of creative ways - on your save the date cards and invitations, wedding menus, signage and more. I can illustrate any dog breed, with experience painting a variety of breeds from large Dalmatians to small French Bulldogs, or curly Cockapoos to fluffy-haired Golden Retrievers!
Custom Wedding Crest with Dogs
Wedding crests are a hot trend this season! Once designed, they can be used across a multitude of items including your wedding invitations, menus, welcome signs, thank you cards and more. My clients often include a personalised dog illustration within their wedding crest, alongside other decorative elements that are meaningful to them - favourite places, illustrations, symbols of hobbies and interests, a favourite cocktail, food or drink…. My crests contain hand-painted details giving you the opportunity for complete customisation. Each one is a unique piece of artwork, designed coherently with your other wedding stationery and decor, and you have flexibility to choose the exact colours and florals that you’d like within the wedding crest - this is the beauty of hiring a designer!
Personalised Dog Wedding Invitations
Make guests smile by adding a custom dog portrait to your wedding stationery suite. Personalised dog wedding invitations are a great way of customising your wedding supplies and adding a little personality. I provide you with complete freedom over the placement of your dog, so you can get creative. Choose whether you would like the illustration printed on the front or back of the invitation, on an envelope liner, belly band, an information card, or anywhere else that takes your fancy. All of my custom dog illustrations are hand-painted personally by me with watercolour paints, making these stand out from the influx of computer-generated illustrations on the market. You can even choose to have the dog illustration sized up to an A4 print (additional charge applies for prints) which would be perfect to frame and hang on your wall as another reminder of your wedding day and love for your furry friend!
Wedding Cocktails Named after Dogs
If you’re having a cocktail hour, why not name the cocktails after your dogs? Wedding signature cocktails are trending right now, and cocktail hours at weddings are great for breaking the ice, getting guests mingling and chatting with each other. Many couples work alongside their wedding venue to craft their own perfect wedding cocktail. So why not create a cocktail menu that is just as personal to you by adding an illustration of the beverage, the ingredients and the dog it’s named after!
Custom Dog Welcome Signs for Weddings
Include your dog in your wedding, have them at the ‘paw-front’ of the day! You could have your custom dog portrait or cat illustration printed onto your welcome sign, so that they can greet your guests as they arrive. Printing dogs on seating charts is another great idea to add that extra element of you, the whole way through your wedding day. Dog paintings also look fantastic on table numbers, and can make them stand out from generic table numbers you can buy online.
My dog wedding signs are fully customisable so they can match your wedding setting perfectly! From blush pink and sage green shades for a summer destination wedding, to tones of burnt orange, perfect for an autumnal wedding, all featuring a fully bespoke dog illustration for your wedding. The signs are printed on a rigid board, perfect for displaying on an easel or propping against a rustic wall.
Wedding Order of Services with Dogs
If you’ve already sent out your invites but wish you chose personalised dog wedding invitations, why not add one to your order of service for the day of your wedding instead? Adding a custom dog painting to your order of service booklets can make these extra special for you and your guests, creating a perfect keepsake to take home after the wedding!
If you are ordering order of services with dogs, all you need to do is send me a few photos of your dog and the text detailing your wedding ceremony in a word document, and I will do the rest!
Bespoke Wedding Stationery with Dog Illustrations
How special is this table plan from Natasha and Sam’s wedding? Forget traditional table numbers, as dog lovers they named their tables after dog breeds that had a special meaning to them. They chose to incorporate delicate shades of blush pink and sage green to go with their wedding colour scheme. Their wedding took place at St Audries Park, a gorgeous manor surrounded by countryside and a deer park, the perfect wedding venue for animal lovers.

Other Ideas
From napkins, to wine labels, cake toppers, and garden flags, there are so many ways you can use a custom dog portrait throughout your wedding. Once I have hand-painted your dog illustration in watercolours, it will be digitized so that you can use it in any way you like on anything you fancy!
Some other great ideas for including your four-legged friends in your wedding celebrations would be to arrange a pre-wedding photoshoot with them, or even just have them brought in for some photographs outside of the venue.
