I had the pleasure of creating custom wedding invitations for Wendy and Martin (pictured above). It is one of my favourite design projects to date - I had so much fun painting their custom wedding illustrations. The colour scheme included burgundy, blush pink and olive with watercolour florals to match. The invitations were a 'love story' design with cute illustrations of how the couple met, their first date, engagement and wedding details, plus a bespoke watercolour of Borthwick Castle at the bottom. The guest information and RSVP cards were filled with things they love such as baking, scuba diving and their chickens - the stationery really did tell Wendy and Martin's story!

Who is the owner of Drumtochty Castle; and getting married there...

Drumtochty Castle is another 1800s marvel, opulent and utterly magnificent. Renovated over 20 years ago by Charlie and Dot Anderson, it’s surrounded by an enormous natural, wild woodland extending 350 acres and including a fairytale church. This could inspire your wedding styling, so why not choose a woodland wedding theme or incorporate natural elements? This castle wedding venue is a symphony of warm red sandstone and pretty turrets. The interiors are lavish every step of the way, beautifully renovated two decades ago, and the standards are exceptionally high throughout.

Pictured above is a custom venue drawing of Drumtochty Castle that I created for a client. The line drawing of the castle makes a beautiful framed print to hang on your wall, full of wonderful memories. It also makes a thoughtful keepsake or wedding gift. The venue lends itself well to ink drawing, and I loved drawing the statue of the stag in front of the castle!

Drumtochty Castle accommodates 99 guests across the castle, the wings, the stables and the lodge, all magnificently appointed and super-stylish. The bridal suite is a lovely calm oasis with a creamy colour scheme. This is the ultimate in romance featuring lots of natural light, and what must be one of the most beautiful beds... ever.

The wedding catering at Drumtochty Castle is a classy affair of local produce and seasonal treats. You can visit for a taste-test experience with one of the venue’s talented chefs, a great way to make the best decision. It’s no surprise their wedding meals, canapés and evening buffets are legendary.
